Brrrr!!.....Wait Is The Snow Melting?

We have had some incredibly cold weather here!  I like some things about winter like the holidays, snuggling, and hot chocolate.  There are also things I don't like so much about winter like not being able to play outside with the kids as much, driving when the roads are bad, and the barren landscape.  Today as I was looking outside I started to think how there are times in your Christian walk that you have winter periods.  When you feel cold and your spiritual walk seems barren!  Our pastor always says if somethings changed in your spiritual walk it isn't God's fault. James 1:17 promises us:

- Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.        (variableness means:inconstant; fickle)

And in Malachi 3:6 the Bible simply states

-For I am the LORD, I change not
So if He hasn't changed who has?  So if we are in a barren cold period of our lives it's up to us to turn back to the Lord ask His forgiveness for our ever fickle spirits and start fresh!  The good news?  Unlike humans who sometimes have a hard time with forgiveness our Lord forgives us instantly and totally!  Isn't that so nice to know?  Whatever mistakes we make and however many times we fail Him, He promises to remain the same!!  Praise His name!  I'm so glad that my salvation is full and free plus nothing minus nothing!  Today as I was thinking about all these things I noticed that the snow was melting! I know we still have plenty of winter left but we don't have to have winter in our spiritual lives as well!  If we really desire a renewal in our spiritual lives we can melt that snow with repentance, prayer, and seeking His face through His Word!  I can feel the snow starting to melt already!
